EDUCATIONAL REFERENCES FROM 2014 - 2015

A downloadable document of references;

Catharyne has been a student at Farnham Sixth Form College since September 2012. All the students in college are expected to follow AS courses or BTEC courses plus some enrichment courses. Catharyne worked hard at GCSE and she gained good results; she is expected to achieve a similar level of success in her current courses in Film, Media and English.

Graham Hawkins - FCELL-GCEAS AS English Language and Literature

In her AS level English Catharyne is an asset to the class due to her general knowledge and confident personal response. She is also willing to add a depth and sophistication to her responses. Her enthusiasm and energy have also been commented on in her study of English Language and Literature. Her essay writing skills are of a high standard, allowing her to sustain a clear and logical argument. She is a confident communicator and her oral contributions to class discussions are lively, thoughtful and knowledgeable; they also always reflect a deep understanding of the texts studied. Similarly, her written work is thorough and utilises close textual references to support her points; these are then subjected to close textual analysis of the highest standards. She is also using precise literary and linguistic terminology. She is also acknowledging and discussing in much greater detail alternative interpretations and the plurality of meaning; continued development of this area of his writing will ensure that she achieves the highest grades.  Her organisation has also been exemplary, always handing in work on time and completing it to a high standard. Note-taking skills have improved considerably over the last year and now she is reaping the rewards for her dedication to literature. Catharyne has been unfailingly enthusiastic and assiduous, demonstrating an admirable work ethic and the ability to work independently. I am therefore very confident that she will cope with the demands of the course and she will be an asset to any higher education course. She is expected to achieve an A.

Lawrence Winn - FCMED-BNC-1 BTEC National Diploma in Creative Media Production - Year 2

Catharyne is an exemplary student of Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Creative Media Production in every way.  She has achieved a distinction grade for almost all of the assignments we have completed so far.  She is a delightful person who is a pleasure to teach.  She works exceptionally well with others in the class and is an enthusiastic group member.  She is very imaginative and able to suggest ideas and shape production work without taking over total control, which illustrates rare maturity and interpersonal skills.  She is equally adept at camera work, editing or taking on a more administrative production role.  Catharyne excels using her photographic and editing ability within her film work and her productions have a wonderful visual style.  She also has a fantastic talent with written communication and an attentive eye for detail.  She has created a professional video for a local dignitary’s start-up business, producing a professional film which was screened for government ministers and investors.
